Eva Eva Eva --- She'd rather be naked than wear fur.

Eva Mendes Poses Nude to Speak Out Against Fur

Eva Mendes  is one of Hollywood's sexiest leading ladies, sharing screen time with the likes of Nicolas Cage, Will Smith, Joaquin Phoenix, and Mark Wahlberg. A regular red-carpet knockout, Eva is courted by all the top designers, but you can rest assured that she will never show up to any event draped in fur. In fact, she'd rather go naked than wear fur of any kind!

That's why this sexy Latina posed nude for PETA's anti-fur campaign alongside the tagline "Fur? I'd rather go naked."

In her interview with PETA, Eva says, "I want people to know that there are options—that killing a poor animal and wearing it isn't cool ... respecting all life forms is cool." We couldn't have said it better!

Like most people, Eva wasn't always aware of the cruelty of the fur trade. She told us, "I remember having my first premiere in New York City and being so naïve that I didn't have a coat with me. My stylist sent me a ... fur wrap for the evening, and I ignorantly wore it. PETA then wrote me a beautiful letter commenting on my less-than-educated choice. I was so impressed that I vowed to them and myself to NEVER wear real fur on the red carpet or in my life again."

As Eva knows, the fur trade is a violent, bloody industry that has no place in fashion. On fur farms in China, where most fur originates, minks, foxes, rabbits, and other animals are kept in tiny wire cages in all weather extremes. They are strangled, bludgeoned, and often skinned while they are still alive. Since fur is often deliberately mislabeled, if you wear fur, there's no way to tell whose skin you're in—it could even be cat or dog fur.

Follow Eva's example and sign PETA's pledge to be fur-free today!

Read Eva's interview with PETA on PETA's blog The PETA Files.

And no, that isn't Reggie Jackson from the hit series, "The Bronx is Burning"

The entire staff of La Fuente Caliente/The Hot Source mourns the loss of a true gentle giant, Mr. Ron Gangle
Mood:  down

AKRON – July 30,2008

La Fuente Caliente /The Hot Source mourns the loss of a true gentle giant.

Ron Gangle, 67, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at his home.

Ron was born in Akron and retired from the Hoover Company of N. Canton after 28 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a graduate of BHS Class of '58 and was a well known local musician and DJ for over two decades.

Ron was and always will be a gentle giant.  They don’t make men now-a-days like Ron.

He was a man of steel --- He was as tough as nails (A Navy Man) yet, he possessed wonderful qualities of compassion and empathy that allowed him to feel the pain of his fellow man, unlike many today.

I always admired him and looked up to him --- respected him enormously.

To me he was and always will be an “encyclopedia of knowledge” with legs, unlike any one I have ever encountered. I could pass hours and hours (in the recording studio at 91.3 FM) just listening to him share with me stories, details, facts and figures about his many travels throughout the U.S., things he encountered while in The U.S. Navy, or simply stories from his perspective about living life in and around Akron, back when Akron was a real city, not what it has become today.  Ron could tell a good story among the innumerable other things that he did with expertise.  He was always easy going and fun to be around --- with an infectious warm smile and personality.

He knew his music forward and backward, a true musician, magical on the accordion.  Who can make sense out of playing an accordion?  Not me.  He made it look so easy.  He would always stop in the (recording) studio and we would talk.  He always had a kind word to share with me.  He was and always will be a “class act”.   He will be forever missed, but never forgotten.

We extend our most heartfelt prayers and condolences to his surviving family members, especially his wife Kaylene, a rare gem of a person as well.

Programming Changes on La Fuente Caliente!
Mood:  energetic

Programming Changes on La Fuente Caliente!

Upcoming, La Fuente Caliente will intensely focus on what we consider to be the Top 10 Hottest Latin tracks in our rotation, regardless of format
(Tropical, Pop, Regional Mexicano).

We hope to deliver compelling content, that’s what radio is all about. We hope to build something postive and make this "THE COUNTDOWN" for Northeastern Ohio and ultimately nationwide — the Top 10 songs of the week and much much more! Large endeavor? We are up for it.

For example, we will be including new features such as "What's in Felipe’s iPod" and a feature where the new school meets old school called – "El Throwback" — featuring some of the older Salsa and Merengue classics from many of the legends of the industry. Also we will blog, blog and blog some more. (English): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog

(Spanish): http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog

We will blog intensely about every/any artist in the Latin industry, especially those we feature on the air.

Also from our web site at www.lafuentecaliente.com you will be able to program our playlist by making suggestions of the artists/groups/songs that you would like to hear on air. We want to spread the word and increase the publics awarness about Latin music in general and YOUR artists specifically. We want to air your artists music and feature your promotional material on our web site blog spot, called "La Pista Caliente" found at www.lafuentecaliente.com

This programming will also feature interviews with and news about many of the industries top artists, plus a sneak brief peak "detras las escenas" — an inside look from Programming Director, Felipe Rizzo who works closely and quietly behind the scenes with many of the industry's top labels.

What we are trying to do here with this TOP 10 COUNTDOWN show will be our effort at growing our listener-base, an effort at expanding our contact with the vast world of Latin music and its listeners and those who love this type of music. This will be our effort at us breaking out of the "same old same old" mold and trying to push the envelope in ways that we haven’t done in the past. Risky? Yes, it is, but all radio is risky, especially nowadays.

One thing I do know is that ... "Ya’ can’t make it to Jalisco unless you start driving south" (from Akron) ...ya’ know what I mean? says, Rizzo.
We are trying ever-so-hard to make something positive happen. If this catches on with the public, if it flies, we’ll expand it. The sky is the limit.

"I've been in this ... (the radio business) for over a decade now working ever-so-hard to maintain advertisers --- nurturing the client relationship, keeping the programming always moving forward in positive directions and always "in the black" on the books among 1,000 other hats that I have had to wear on a daily baisis, from that, I know there's no better way to reach the music listener than through radio," said Felipe Rizzo. "I'm thrilled about this new oppourtunity. I look forward to our coming launch date" We’ve been working very hard towards this end.

Felipe Rizzo was the force behind the launching of La Fuente Caliente — after a brief stint with Las Horas Latinas. He is one of the visionary minds who helped to bring Latin music on a
wide(r) scale to an area where it previously didn’t exist, Akron, Ohio. Before that, he was the catalyst and visionary who — (being ahead of his time) — petitioned Time Warner Cable to bring Hispanic Television Programming to the greater Akron area — now several years later, Channel 61 (Univision WQHS) serves all of Clevleand and Akron, Ohio.
